Note from the poster: A young driver was sitting in the car and I asked him if he had a permit. He didn't answer, but showed me his right leg which was in a plaster cast to his toes. He said he was entitled to park there because of his leg as he had checked with the authorities. I believe it is against the law to drive with a broken right leg for a start and I don't believe ANYONE is permitted to park there without a permit. Another gentleman came along who was parked with his permit showing and told the young man that this park was reserved for disabled people who had paid for their permits. The young guy said he didn't like people like us as it wasn't our business. His mother eventually came back to the car with her groceries, didn't say a word, got into the car and he drove off.

The taxi company was contacted and their general manager is going to look into it. He said:
"If you have any additional information on the date and time of this incident I would welcome the receipt of that so we can identify the driver concerned at the time and address the matter with them directly.

I may not buy more in one go, but I guarantee you I spend as much, if not more, than the average punter does in a week.

Mark Wahlber, you are obviously not physically disabled, however, you most certainly are mentally disabled to make an inane comment such as that. What a brainless comment!!!
Don't know how it works where you are, but in San Francisco the fine for parking in a handicapped space without a permit is $800.00. No one ever breaks this rule!
Hey Mark, you have my parking spot, would you like my disability as well
Ian, you can't argue with a total idiot, they'll win every time. Think about it Ian; we may be disabled physically but people like Mark are also disabled, however, their disability is between their ears. Comments like he is making don't deserve a reply, we need to treat him with the contempt he obviously deserves and ignore him. God forbid there may come a day when he will understand.
The kid in the car wasn't doing the walking anyway. Any permit issued should only apply to the person who exits the vehicle.
You're 100% correct picketpin PLUS in New Zealand when you have a leg or arm in a plaster cast you are NOT permitted to drive a car. With a plaster cast to his toes it would have been necessary to use his left leg on the brake and accelerator which is NOT legal unless you have a special dispensation eg if you are a right leg amputee. His mother was obviously just lazy, hence he parked so close to the supermarket for her shopping and she never said a word when she returned to the car with her groceries. Unbelievable!!!!
