This green John Deere mini tractor, plate WE2654, was parked illegally in a disability parking space at Massey University, on 26 January 2007.

The taxi company was contacted and their general manager is going to look into it. He said:
"If you have any additional information on the date and time of this incident I would welcome the receipt of that so we can identify the driver concerned at the time and address the matter with them directly.

By that i mean they have few issues pushing around large food carts.

This is a little unfair considering the head gardiner uses this gator and he broke his leg in several places late last year and was quite entitled to park in that space.

While we sympathise with the gardener's situation, the fact is, these spaces are reserved for those who hold a disability parking permit. In New Zealand, it means either a one-year white placard or a five-years orange placard available through CCS. If such a permit is not displayed, then people should not utilise the space.
The person who sent us the picture adds that when the photo was taken, the only gardening staff nearby was a young woman who was cleaning the grounds in front of the cafeteria. There was no senior staff to be found.
Also Dave, if he is fit enought to go back to work and do phyical work like gardening than he does not need this parking space.It does not matter how disabled you are, if you have no handicap tag or placard, you are not entitled to the handicap parking space, period!
