Poster note:I had a meeting at the school, had a long roll around the driveway due to blocking the curb cut, not forgetting I wasn't able the lower my ramp without backing in. I was ignored when I told the front desk, guess they felt it not important, was still there an hour later when I left. I couldn't contact the school board on the internet to send pictures, so contacted the mayor about it. The mayor hisself got back with me, resolved it and made repeats impossible by putting a no parking post in the middle, at the end, blocking the stripe zone from cars entering. Wonder what was said to the school board over it, he even sent a follow up to let me know it was resolved.
Webmaster's Note: We are very happy to see that *someone* took the issue seriously and did something about it. Congratulation in achieving positive results.

The taxi company was contacted and their general manager is going to look into it. He said:
"If you have any additional information on the date and time of this incident I would welcome the receipt of that so we can identify the driver concerned at the time and address the matter with them directly.

I may not buy more in one go, but I guarantee you I spend as much, if not more, than the average punter does in a week.

Interesting Photo, In Red Wing, MN I remember a High School Teacher who drove a smaller vehicle commenting that she would park in these diagonal slashed areas as 'they were not handicapped areas' and her car fit the space. I did see her vehicle in these spaces a number of times, though not lately.
Well David, the striped "Access Aisle" are actually part of the accessible parking space in many cases. Or they are simply a "don't park there" symbol. Your high school teacher ought to pick up on her driving knowledge :)
Ticks me off when I hear someone say, "There's no handicapped sign on the slashes."
Not only are they used there, but in "no parking" areas, "fire lanes," and "pedestrian crosswalks," why is it no one parks in these areas, claim they didn't know. The ones by the handicap parking areas really shouldn't need to be marked, the parking space is.
We recently went to the County Fair near our home, when we came out of the fairgrounds to the parking lot a county handicap bus had parked at at angle, on the stripes, we couldn't open the sliding van door, let alone get the ramp out to put our scooters back in the van, it took several minutes for me to manuever our van out of the slot, and as soon as I was clear, a gold car slid right into the space I had vacated...I had to block traffic to deploy the ramp and put the first scooter in, then I was asked to move because cars were coming too near the horses and spooking them, so I folded the ramp, and moved closer to the walk-thru gate to the fairgrounds so I could pick up my husband, he had gone back inside to see if they'd get the bus moved into a proper parking space and not block the ramo access. What a day!!!! This was the 28th of March about noon.
All of those blocking the access for the ramps should have to live one week of their life either in a wheel chair depending on others for help or be the primary care giver of a wheel chair bound person. It makes you remember WHY those special ramps are put in place.
That's the best yet, I say the judge should give them time working with the Assisted Living advocates, or other agency. Some of the employees are wheelchair users, I know one who is a high quad, they could be his assistant for a week.
