The taxi company was contacted and their general manager is going to look into it. He said:
"If you have any additional information on the date and time of this incident I would welcome the receipt of that so we can identify the driver concerned at the time and address the matter with them directly.

I may not buy more in one go, but I guarantee you I spend as much, if not more, than the average punter does in a week.

That would be a Mazda Protege
people have other things than the liscnece plate dude, they have something they hang by their rear-view mirror, my wife has one, and if a know-nothing like you passes by and sees her he would probably think shes there and she's not a handicape, but she is and she has a proof in front.
i am sure if you moved your lazy ass off of your seat and went to the fron of the car you would see a handicape card hanging on the rear-view mirro
anyhow, these pictures are useless and im waiting my time
John, we realise that many people use a placard hanging from the rearview mirror instead of disability license plates. In fact, in most country these license plates don't exist.
The vast majority of photos on this site are taken from the back because there is no way to take a photo from the front, particularly if you are a wheelchair user.
Caughtya's purpose is not to decide whether or not someone is using a parking permit legitimately or not. We only are here to address the issue of people using disability parking spaces without a permit (or misusing the spaces, despite having a permit). In other words, we do not make judgement calls as to whether or not someone is 'disabled enough' to have a parking permit.
I would think that you would understand what we are up against, considering that your wife has a disability herself.
hay john, I posted the pic, and if you want, I can send you a short movie of the person getting out of the car, and you can see (because the view is from the front) that he does not have a hanging tag on his car.
The vid will show that I was inside the fast food place when this person came into view, and frankly the best way for me to take the shot was as I was driving out of there.
I find it strange that you made an assumption about people who are trying to make things easier for your partner.
//Moderator edit: toned response down
When my grandmother was alive, she passed last year, she had a placard instead of a license plate so I also know the use of a hang tag. I can agree that there are times when someone might forget to hang up the placard though they do have it.
However I was completely blown away by John's lack of respect for people who use handicapped parking! What if they can't get up, John? How rude of you, and with you having a wife who has a handicapped parking permit. It makes me wonder if what you say is true. Good for you, rbn, for getting video and a picture!!
I enjoy this website and how it brings to light all of the people who so rudely and illegally use handicapped parking. I think I'll be bringing my digital camera with me the next time I go out shopping. I know I've seen my fair share of illegal parkers. I live in Pennsylvania and haven't seen any posted on the website from PA. I'll keep my eyes open!
I don't think pictures should not be submitted if you cannot prove all the facts in a single shot. Prove that there is not a placecard. If your going to play vigilante...get out of you car and do it right as opposed to a "drive by". You may not like it... John is right. And if this is something you feel passionatly enough about, you should do it accurately and to the best of your ability. More so...I'd have had that person paged to their car and got a picture of them as well! Smile, and say cheese!
John before I take a picture of a car parked in a handicapped space I check the tag first then look to see if there is one hanging front the rear view mirror...I am sure the other people check that too..Handicapped people know what to look for.
cass, the fact that the photo was taken from a car doesn't mean that the picture taker hadn't made sure there wasn't a permit displayed. I sometimes check a car before I get in my car and take the photo as I drive away. Paging the person is well and nice, but people may not necessarily come to move their car. Besides, Caughtya doesn't want to publish photos of the offenders themselves, just the cars :)
Darryl, Thank you for your work on this.
